The Effect of Alloy Formulation on the Transformation Temperature Range of Ni-Ti Shape Memory Alloys.

Thermal analysis data and statistics are presented on nine binary Ni-Ti alloys ranging from As = +95ºC down to As = -50ºC. The material was made by vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR). The VIM pieces are bundled to make the electrodes for VAR. Analysis of differential scanning colorimetry data shows that the standard deviation of transformation temperature parameters, Mf, Mp, Ms, As, Ap and Af are affected by the alloy formulation….
